Centre for Women and Law, NLUO is hosting special lecture series on vast array of topics that cover different dimensions of feminist engagements with law in India. For tomorrow, i.e. 15th March 2021 we are going to have with us Prof. Dr. Vageshwari Deswal from Delhi University with us. She will be speaking on "Acid Attack as gendered violence".
About the Speaker:
Dr. Vageshwari Deswal is a well-known academician known for her academic contribution and activism, feminist in spirit and action as well. She is an avid writer and a regular blogger for various reputed offline and online platforms. She teaches criminal law, family law and jurisprudence at Law Centre-II, Faculty of Law, University of Delhi.
She is credited with the publication of more than a dozen articles and book reviews in leading Law Journals. She has prepared case materials and e-lessons for students of LL.B., LL.M. and Legal Literacy course run by Delhi University. A lifetime member of prestigious institutions such as the Indian Society of International Law and the Institute of Constitutional and Parliamentary Studies, she is also the Treasurer of All India Law Teachers Congress. She is closely associated with Gender Sensitization programmes conducted by WDC, DU and NGO Umang.
