Training of Chairpersons and Members of Child Welfare Committees of Odisha from 16-20 September 2019 at NLUO 

 

Centre for Child Rights, specialized research centre of NLUO, is organizing day training for the Chairpersons and Members of the Child Welfare Committees of Odisha from 16th - 20th September 2019 with the support of UNICEF and in collaboration with Department of Women Child Development, Government of Odisha. The objectives of the training are:

  • To critically sensitize child welfare committees of their powers, functions and responsibilities  in the context of Juvenile Justice (Care and Protection) Act, 2015 and other legislations relating to child protection.
  • To strengthen their knowledge on effective case management, documentation, information management and various practices of rehabilitation and social reintegration of children.
  • To orient them about critical child protection issues and strategies to identify needs and priorities of children in need of care and protection.
  • To develop knowledge on child psychology, mental health issues, and multi-disciplinary approach to address the protection of special need children, child in sexual abuse.     

Training will be held in three batches to train around 150 persons covering chairpersons and members of child welfare committees of all 30 districts of Odisha. This is the first batch training and other two training shall be held in October 2019.
