The New Block of Legal Aid Clinic has been inaugurated by Chief Justice of Orissa High Court, Hon'ble Mr. Justice Mohammad Rafiq, Chancellor, NLUO and Patron-in-Chief, Odisha State Legal Service Authority at NLU Odisha on June 24, 2020, Wednesday at 10.15 A.M. in the gracious presence of Hon’ble Kumari Justice Sanju Panda, Judge, High Court of Orissa & Executive Chairperson, Orissa State Legal Services Authority along with other Hon’ble Judges of High Court of Orissa. The inauguration was followed by plantation programme conducted in collaboration with the Odisha State Forest Department.

Legal Aid has been an important component in both compulsory curriculum and practicum based learning at NLUO. Legal education being the focus of the University, it is mandated to bring in practical knowledge into its domain by such outreach initiatives. The Student Legal Aid Clinic will help the needy and marginalized to get free legal aid and services. The student members of the Clinic will provide pre-litigation services to amicably resolve the disputes including developing legal awareness etc. The clinic will work in cooperation with DLSA, Cuttack with help of trained paralegal volunteers, panel lawyers to resolve such cases.
