First Meeting of Institute Innovation Council members at National Law University Odisha

The First Institution’s Innovation Council (IIC) meeting for the future Course of Action was held in the Conference Hall of NLUO on 24th September 2019 at 3.00 pm. In the meeting, the Prof. Srikirshna Deva Rao, Vice-Chancellor, NLUO, Dr. Srinivas Subbarao Pasumarti, Dean Faculty of Commerce and Management, Sri Sri University, Cuttack and CEO, SSU Innovation Private Limited, Mr. Ananda Mishra, Founder and CEO, Grozip , Dr. Yogesh Pratap Singh, Registrar, National Law University Odisha and from the faculty side Mr. Mayank Tiwari, Ms. Sudatta Barik, Ms. Anurupa Chetia, Ms. Arjyalopa Mishra, Ms. Rujitha TR, Mr. Owais Khan were present. Along with them the student members of IIC present in the meeting.

The meeting had a great discussion about the future plan of action for the present calendar year in which the students they presented about the IIC and activities they performed till date under IIC for which they got many fruitful suggestions from the Prof. Srikirshna Deva Rao, Vice Chancellor. Mr. Anand Mishra, Vice President of the Council started talking about Startups that could solve local issues in Odisha were initiated by him. Further, he suggested that the Student Members must follow what they have planned as it will be a great imitative. After that Dr. Srinivas Subbarao Pasumarti, asked the students members to focus on the real society’s problem in order to inculcate a new idea then he mentioned about the CSR Odisha and many other entrepreneurs like Bimtech having their website one must visit that and must tie up with them. He suggested having a tie up with all other startup many local authorities issues one can develop a simplified system and can collaborate with other institutions. He acclaimed that if we take such initiatives then Government of Odisha will help surely. So, this Council must first registered with the Startup India for the sake of information as they are conducting a rule of innovation and providing around 40 lakhs rupees for 5 years. Ms. Arjyalopa Mishra, Assistant Professor of Law, National Law University Odisha, suggested that one must understand that the startup culture requires awareness as to what is the specific area Government is coming up example horticulture, daily farming, so, we can help them in company formation, how the business functions and can help out with the paper work that would create initial awareness. At last the Registrar, National Law University, Odisha, stated his gratitude for such a good discussion session and so many inputs from the Specialist which will be tried to inculcate in the curriculum of the Innovation and Entrepreneurship as there is enough scope for implementation.
