21th Informal Discussion Group Session by Mr. Shivshankar Menon on ‘What Foreign Policy Does India Need?’

In pursuance of our intent to organize insightful discussions in NLUO, the Informal Discussion Group is delighted to inform you that we are back with our 21st Guest Lecture.

 For the 21th Guest Lecture of IDG, we have a former diplomat Mr. Shivshankar Menon who has agreed to speak on the topic- 'What Foreign Policy Does India Need?'. 

 His brief profile is as follows

 After graduating from St. Stephen's College, Shivshankar Menon joined the Indian Foreign Services in 1972 and went on to serve as the National Security Advisor of India under Prime Minister Manmohan Singh. He had previously served as the Foreign Secretary in the Ministry of External Affairs. Prior to that, he was the Indian High Commissioner to Pakistan, and Sri Lanka and an ambassador to China and Israel.

An author of Intellectual brilliance, his notable books include 'Choices: Inside the Making of India's Foreign Policy', 'India and Asian Geopolitics: Past and Present', and 'India-US Relations: Addressing the Challenges of the 21st Century'.

 The lecture is scheduled on 27th August at 3 PM.
