10th April, 2019: Constitutional Law Society NLUO organized First Intra University “Nani Palkhivala Quiz on Constitutional Law”

The Constitutional Law Society of NLUO successfully culminated its First Intra University “Nani Palkhivala Quiz on Constitutional Law” on April 10th, 2019. Under the guidance of our Faculty Advisor, Mr. Ashit Kumar Srivastava, Assistant Professor of Law who was also the Quiz Master, the Society organised the Quiz where as many as forty-five teams participated from the University. Each team consisted of 2 members.

The Quiz was organised in three stages. First, a Preliminary Round written test was conducted, out of which top eight highest scoring teams qualified for the “Round of 8”. Thereafter, top 4 teams advanced to the Finale Round, which was the “Round of 4”. This was a buzzer round where 15 questions were posed before the teams and the team first to press the buzzer got the opportunity to answer the question. The Quiz Master posed a variety of questions before the teams ranging from normal written questions to visual and audio questions as well. The event saw many inquisitive students eager to answer the questions which were asked. However, there were few questions which no team could answer and finally such answers were revealed by the Quiz Master himself. With the end of the Round of 4, the winner of First Intra University “Nani Palkhivala Quiz on Constitutional Law” was declared.

To make the quiz interesting and interactive, questions were also posed to audience and goodies were presented to those who answered the questions correctly.

Furthermore, the event was appreciated by most of the participants. Ms. Arpita Tripathi of final year added, “The quiz was very interactive from the beginning.It not only gave me an exposure to quizzing but also enriched my knowledge. It takes huge efforts to conduct such an event and I really appreciate the commitment of the organizing committee. The presentation of questions was innovative and I look forward to see such events in the future.”

Similarly, Mr. Kumar Mangalam from 2nd year who also broke into finals said, “When I first got to know that ‘Constitutional Law Society’ is organizing a Quiz on Constitutional Law, it came as a happy surprise to me as our college lacked a vibrant quizzing cultureuntil this event came up.However, I believe that this is just a start of the culture which will keep on satiating the inquisitive minds of the University. CLS did a great job in conducting this quiz.The level of questions and the enthusiasm of participants was commendable. Kudos to CLS for organizing an informative Quiz on Constitutional Law.”

Prof. (Dr.) Yogesh Pratap Singh, Registrar I/C and Prof. Sachidhanandam, Senior Adjunct Professor of Law were present to witness the Finale Round post which the Valedictory ceremony was held where Prof. Yogesh and Prof. Sachidhanandam awarded the winning teams. The winning team was awarded with Rs 3500/- along with Winning Certificate. Runners-up were awarded with Rs 1500/- with Runners-up Certificate. Finalists and Semifinalists were presented with Certificate of Excellence. Moreover, all the participants received e-certificate of Participation.

With this the First Intra University “Nani Palkhivala Quiz on Constitutional Law” was concluded. The Constitutional Law Society is overwhelmed by the response and competitive spirit of the students.
