LexTech- Centre for Law, Entrepreneurship and Innovation has been striving to inculcate a culture of innovation and entrepreneurship in the university since its inception. The ultimate goal of our Centre is to become the breeding ground for the confluence of law and technology related innovations and advancements in the 21st Century. For this academic year, the Centre plans to start focusing on emerging areas of FinTech, AI & Law, Online Gaming, Data Privacy laws and TMT. In this regard, the Centre wishes to set up a website. This initiative will generate curiosity amongst the student body and garner widespread attention to the ongoing discussions in the market related to associated areas of data privacy, AI and law, FinTech, funding to start-ups, Online Gaming, and TMT.

The Centre aims to promote interdisciplinary research, collaboration, and capacity building in upcoming areas of FinTech, TMT, AI & other technological law aspects, wants to foster critical thinking and responsible adoption of technology to enhance access to justice, improve legal processes, and address emerging challenges.

The Centre wishes to be a national leader in advancing legal technology research, innovation, and policy advocacy, driving transformative changes in the legal profession and promoting the vibrant start-up culture that India is known for.

LexTech- Centre for Law, Entrepreneurship and Innovation is hosting its flagship event Google Startup Weekend from the 3rd to 5th August 2018.

Startup Weekend is a community-powered network. Startup Weekend involves a 54-hour event designed to provide superior experimental education for technical and non-technical entrepreneurs. Each Startup Weekend event is organised by local volunteers who manage all ground level aspects of putting together the event. Work is dedicated to foster entrepreneurship and to create grassroots leadership. Startup Weekend is a global network of passionate leaders and entrepreneurship on a mission to inspire, educate and empower individuals, teams and communities. Startup Weekend has held 2000+ events in 135+ countries around the world.

Keeping in mind that we are one of the few law schools in India to have its very own exclusive Entrepreneurship Cell, the distinctive focus for the Cuttack edition of Startup Weekend is ‘Law and Social Entrepreneurship’.

From its establishment in 2008, National Law University, Odisha has paved an inquisitive path towards the field of legal education. The institution also boasts of being a first mover to impart Law and Entrepreneurship as a compulsory subject in its curriculum.

Keeping in mind that we are one of the few law schools in India to have its own exclusive entrepreneurship cell, the distinctive focus for the 2nd edition of the Startup Weekend is “Law & Sustainable Entrepreneurship”.

The objective of LexTech is to cultivate a rare breed of entrepreneurs by incubating, accelerating, mentoring and funding innovative start-ups, thereby creating a transformation in the learning environment for motivating, preparing and assisting entrepreneurial leaders and scholars to turn knowledge into action in pursuing innovative solutions to the most pressing problems of the globe.

The upcoming event which is all about “Law & Sustainable Entrepreneurship”, promises to be a huge success by virtue of Google being its title sponsor. We are posing for a grand stage for successful Startup founders and businessmen in the economy.
