Ph.D. ( The West Bengal National University of Juridical Sciences, Kolkata) 2019
LL.M (NALSAR University of Law, Hyderabad) 2013
B.A.LL.B(Hons.) (Chanakya National Law University, Patna) 2011
Priyanka Anand has been associated with National Law University Odisha since February 2015 as Assistant Professor of Law. Her alma mater for the first degree in law is Chanakya National Law University, Patna and thereafter she pursued her masters’ degree in law from NALSAR University of Law, Hyderabad. Taking up law was by chance for her, but once in law school she developed an unequivocal enthusiasm and interest for the field. Her affinity towards commercial laws and the urge to consolidate her knowledge of the subject influenced her decision to take up specialization in Corporate Law and Governance at NALSAR. She has been an avid mooter at law school – having done relatively well at the national and international stage – which guided her inclination away from the transactional work, that most in law school aspire for, towards academics. The opportunity to do LL.M at NALSAR and to work as a Teacher Assistant in her final semester, actually cruised her career path towards academics. Her academic career as a student at two different national law schools and a faculty at two other NLU’s has helped her immensely to position herself as a teacher in this setting. She cleared the National Eligibility Test (NET) of University Grants Commissions during her postgraduate study in 2012. She has been a sincere and diligent student throughout her academic life and her securing second highest CGPA in B.A.LL.B (Hons.) and highest CGPA in LL.M (Corporate Law & Governance) bears a testimony to it. She started her teaching career at NUSRL, Ranchi in August 2013 and undertook courses for both undergraduate and postgraduate students. Since, February 2015, she has been working at NLUO, Cuttack. She has also completed her Ph.D. from WB-NUJS, Kolkata engaging in the field of public law. Her principal research area concerns the applicability of judicial theories to national security legislations. She has published number of research articles in national journals of repute and participated in various national conferences and seminars. Her interest areas include Taxation Laws, Constitutional Law, Legal theories and Competition Law.
