Overview

NLU-Odisha offers one-year LL.M Programme. Through this programme, we intend to provide an ideal platform for high-calibre students to acquire expertise in specialized subject areas informed by highly experienced, research-led teaching. Our innovatively designed LL.M Programme will help students to develop their abilities to think critically, analyze legal arguments, articulate ideas and research efficiently.

Eligibility

NLUO admits students to its LL.M programme through Common Law Admission Test (CLAT). The details on Eligibility criteria and Admission procedure is available at https://clatconsortiumofnlu.ac.in/

Admission Procedure

Admission to the LL.M. Programme at National Law University, Odisha is made strictly on merit, based on a Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) to be conducted at different centers across the country. Further details regarding the Admission Test is made available at https://clatconsortiumofnlu.ac.in/

Fee and Finance

The tentative fee structure and refundable deposits for resident Indian students in the Academic Session 2018 – 19 is as follows:

Admission Fees 5,000/- One Time
Student Welfare Fund 5,000/- Per Annum
Examination Fee 5,000/- Per Annum
Internet / IT Services Fee 5,000/- Per Annum
Electricity Charges 15,000/- Per Annum
Sports and Game Facilities 1,000/- Per Annum
Moot Court / Seminar / Workshops 3,000/- Per Annum
Hostel Fee 22,000/- Per Annum
Estate Maintenance Fee 10,000/- Per Annum
Total 1,41,000,000/-

Refundable Deposits (One TIme)

Mess Deposits 5,000/-

Note:

1. The above fee structure does not include monthly Mess charges. Students are required to pay the Mess charges directly to the Mess Committee at the beginning of each Semester / as per the instructions from time to time.

2. The refundable deposits will be refunded only after successful completion of the course. The amount will not be refunded in case of cancellation of candidature by the student or otherwise during the tenure of the course.

3. The above-mentioned fee structure for session 2019-20 is subject to revision.

Tuition fee for Foreign National Students / NRI Students

Tuition Fees US Dollar 4,000/- Per Annum

Note: This fee is set by NLUO and is subject to revision, usually rising in line with inflation.

The LL.M. Curriculum

The LL.M. (Master of Laws) program at NLUO is of one-year duration and is divided into two semesters.

COURSE STRUCTURE:

The University offers specialization in the following area:

1. Corporate and Commercial Law

2. Constitutional and Administrative Law

The LL.M. curriculum have the following components:

i. Foundation/Compulsory Courses (3 papers of three credits each)

ii. Optional/Specialization Courses (6 papers of two credits each) and will be notified in each semester.

iii. Dissertation (3 credits).
