“Odisha observes World No Tobacco Day- NLUO and all Municipalities to release No Tobacco Signages”

In collaboration with Municipal Corporation across Odisha State

 

National Law University of Odisha as a part of its Project on Tobacco Control Initiatives is engaging with municipal corporations of Odisha in supporting installation of display boards on the menace of tobacco use and the laws on tobacco control in market places, Bus stations, Railway Stations, entertainment halls and malls ( Section 4 , 6a and 6b ).

 

This campaign aims to spread awareness and sensitize common people on the menace of tobacco use and the laws on the tobacco control. The municipal corporation across state will support National Law University Odisha in Installation of display board containing information on menace of tobacco use and law on tobacco control in market places, bus stands, railway stations, entertainment halls and malls (Section 4, 6a and 6b).

 

Municipal corporation across Odisha State will display messages on Tobacco control on public broadcasting platform in support of tobacco free Odisha. National Law University will assist Municipal team in designing and finalizing posters and messages.   

 

Stronger policy formulation and effective law enforcement can play a crucial role in reducing tobacco consumption and improving public health outcomes. Overall, The Tobacco free Odisha Campaign by National Law University Odisha for advancing effective tobacco control in India is a positive step towards addressing this critical public health issue and promoting effective policy and enforcement measures to reduce tobacco use.
