In context of a globalized world, the practices of business and management underpin the core fabric of social and economic life in contemporary society. As cultures change, so do the ways in which individuals work in organizations and interact with their communities. Because of this, management is a vibrant discipline which is constantly being informed by the needs of individuals and societies and provides many opportunities for students to explore the various ways in which they can make an impact on the world of the future. The study of management also provides students with a huge menu of disciplines in which they can find their true calling. Management is informed by business studies, economics, psychology, sociology, cultural studies and history to name but a few.
Since the advent of the industrial revolution and even before, people, around the globe, have been facing difficult decisions and often unprecedented challenges and the current unpredictable business environment shows no sign of stabilizing. More so, among the plethora of issues that businesses deal with many are legal in nature. .
Today's global situation calls for graduates who can think strategically, behave ethically and, most importantly, responsibly - all against the backdrop of potentially limited resources, a downturn in demand, economic uncertainty and the changing legal environment. These are the qualities we seek to develop at the School of Managerial Excellence.
